The Ancient Chinese Secret - Now Available!

Hi! My name is Stacey Helfman and I am the author of the Culture Club Series. The Culture Club is a new extra-credit enrichment club made up of a few eighth-graders who get to go to really cool places and create lesson plans for other students. So far there are only three students: Kit, her twin sister Sara, and Jason. As with any new club, once everyone finds out how awesome and fun it is, other students are going to want to join!
The Ancient Chinese Secret is a fictional story that takes place within the Philadelphia Museum of Art and is loosely based on the history of the Ming Dynasty. The Chinese Palace Reception Hall, the Scholar’s Study as well as many of the Chinese artifacts found within the Asian Galleries are weaved into the story as these fictional characters may have used them, and thus brings them to life.
As Kit, Sara and Jason uncover the many mysteries and history hidden inside the museum, they also learn more about each other and themselves.
I have always loved to read and would sit for hours reading my favorite books. Because of this, and my love of history, I studied Archaeology and Journalism at Rutgers University. I also get a ton of love and support from my husband, Larry, and my three kids: Morgan, Andrew and Daniel.
